Nature Walks

The Austin Country Club Golf Course is closed on Mondays for maintenance, so Colin and I like take "9 hole" nature walks. He loves running up and down the hills, and he especially loves the sand traps. I'm teaching him to identify and say: tree, bird, grass and dirt. He could care less about everything previously mentioned - except for "dirt." Why does this surprise me? He gets both hands covered in soil, sand, mud - you name it - and enthusiastically says "ert, ert, ert!!!"
