"For questions only DNA can answer..."

Thanks Matt and Philip for David's paternity test! I love the quote on the back of the box, "For many parents and children, paternity knowledge provides peace of mind." David might actually take the test if it weren't for the additional $119 laboratory fee. I guess we won't be appearing on Jerry Springer after all. :)

Activity Mat

I put Colin on the activity mat today, and he was mildly entertained for about 10-15 minutes. But then again, that's 10-15 minutes more free time for me!!! I think he will like it more and more as he gets older and stronger. I can tell he is more alert this week, and he spends more time trying to focus his eyes on objects. He loves moving his hands and kicking his feet when he's not wrapped up tight in a blanket. I've even witnessed a few smiles this week. This newborn phase is not easy, but I can tell it will be more fun in the months to come.

Sweet Dogball

Sweet Monster is doing her very best to share us with Colin. She tolerates his screams, his dirty diaper smell and the late-night melt downs, but she won't take second place when it comes to lap time. So we always make room for her when she needs to snuggle.

I keep a camera within arms reach for moments like these...

My new favorite thing

If Oprah ever did an episode of her "Favorite Things" targeted towards baby stuff, this would definitely make the list. Introducing MY new favorite thing: The Fisher Price Little Lamb Cradle & Swing.

I remember when I was newly pregnant and I didn't want to register for lots of obnoxious baby gear for fear that it would clutter up the house. Well I've changed my mind! Colin's swing has taken a front and center spot in our living room, and I couldn't be more thankful that we own this huge contraption. It's what I call the new "chair of neglect." He happily spends several hours a day in his swing, and it allows me some much needed hands-free time to myself. We even went to Costco to buy D batteries in bulk - gotta stock pile those now! They are just as precious as diapers. :)

Here are some action shots of our little cutie enjoying his swing.
