Day at the Park

WOW! Tons of new activities at the park. The only thing that would have made it more fun - if we had let him eat the rocks. Parents can be so over protective!

Favorite Time of Day

I've been consistently taking Colin and Monster for a walk around the neighborhood at 4:30. The afternoon hours between 4-7 can be a fussy time for Colin. It's too close to bed time to take a nap, so a stroller walk is a chill pill that's easy to swallow.

I like to stretch our walk to an hour so that by the time we get home it's time for the "2 D's" dinner and daddy!!! Sometimes if I'm lucky Colin will even take a little cat nap. What am I going to do when it's 100 degrees in the afternoon? This baby is going to be testing out those sweat glands pretty soon. But for now, isn't this peaceful and sweet (and the best part...quiet!).

Colin is 8 Months

8 months has brought new changes in Colin's growth and development. I think my new favorite thing is the fact that he can sit in a grocery cart. It makes shopping a whole lot easier - not to mention all the fabulous extra room for groceries.

Fortunately for me, the boy loves to shop! Colin will laugh and smile at people to get attention. Last week he was trying every noise in his "baby sound vocabulary" to get noticed in the HEB check out line. The woman in front of me turned around and said, "Well aren't you the cutest little show pony I have ever seen." I couldn't have said it better myself. Colin was SO pleased with himself to have made a new friend. My little show pony even got a balloon from the store manager.

Pool Time

I've been so excited for the weather to warm up so Colin could experience pool time. Just as I had hoped, the baby pool was a hit. I had to do some prep work before the fun began. I slathered Colin with sun block (which he did not like) and strapped on a swim diaper then filled the pool. I only put a couple inches of water in for the maiden voyage. Colin was SO happy. He literally splashed around like a fish for almost 30 minutes.
