One Month Check Up

Colin now weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces and is 21 inches long. He's in the 25% for height and weight, but he's in the 95% for head circumference! Small body, big brain.

In other news, Colin did something fantastic last night - he slept for 5 hours straight. To most people, this does not sound like much, but to new parents who are walking around like zombies everyday, this is huge!!! Nothing can prepare you for the sleep deprivation that happens in the first month.

David and I each thought the other person had fed him in between the hours of 9:30 pm and 2:30 am, but we discovered this morning that he had indeed gone for a long, uninterrupted stretch. Let's keep this going! I can't tell you how wonderful it will be to get good sleep again. On that notes, now it's time for my nap, but first here are some cute pics taken this morning.

Colin vs. Monster

I basically spent my entire day cleaning up after my "children" today. Who do you think makes the best mess?

Colin is One Month!

Tomorrow is Colin's one month check up with our pediatrician. She will weigh him again and give us his new percentages. Last appointment, he weighed 7.5 lbs and was in the 10-25% for height and weight but his head circumference was 85% percentile.

He's definitely growing - I know this bc he now has more wardrobe choices! His 0-3 month clothes are finally starting to fit, and I've had fun playing dress up. I love the footed pjs and anything blue brings out the blue in his eyes. Wonder if those baby blues will change color? Fingers crossed they don't chance bc as a "brown eyed girl" I have always wanted blue.

Colin's new schedule is sleep for three 3-hour shifts and wake up around 7 am. Unfortunately, mornings are his happy time (my not-so-happy time) so we "play" on the activity mat and take a walk in the BOB most every day. Then, if he won't take a nap around lunch, I give him a bath and hope that brings sleep. Yesterday, he only took one 2-hour nap all day long. He's definitely more alert now, and it's fun to watch him explore his new environment. David thinks he's obsessed with lights and ceiling fans, but I think that's what you tend to look at when you lie on your back all day.

Game Day Pics

David and Tish came to visit, and we watched the Texas game. Colin slept through the game, but he did wear his burnt orange to support the horns.
